Gaza and the West Bank
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk presented a report to the Human Rights Council on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, covering the period from 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025. The document, he said, demonstrates serious violations both on the part of Israel and on the part of Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups. While the Gaza truce of October 11, 2025 brought some relief, it did not lead to sustainable protection of civilians, Turk said. He also expressed serious concern about Israeli moves to expand control in the West Bank.
Strikes on Ukraine
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that last night, as a result of a large-scale drone and missile strike, as well as military operations across Ukraine, civilians were killed and wounded, houses and infrastructure were damaged. На брифинге в Нью-Йорке пресс-секретарь ООН Стефан Дюжаррик заявил, что в Организации осуждают атаки вооруженных сил России на гражданское население и инфраструктуру. He also said that, according to local authorities and UN partners, last month almost 7 thousand people were evacuated from front-line areas in eastern Ukraine.
Violence in Sudan
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk today warned of a catastrophic situation in Sudan. He presented his new report to the Human Rights Council, which documents appalling violence, including massacres and rape. In turn, the Chairman of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission to Sudan, Mohamed Chande Othman, reminded the Council of the expert findings that the actions of the Rapid Reaction Force during the capture of El Fasher had “signs of genocide” against the non-Arab Zaghawa and Fur communities.
