ООН: поставки гуманитарной помощи в Газу возобновлены, но их объем остается недостаточным

Unloading humanitarian aid in Gaza (archive). UN: humanitarian aid supplies to Gaza have resumed, but their volume remains insufficient Humanitarian assistance

Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza have resumed, but their volume remains significantly below required levels. This was announced on Wednesday by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Ramiz Alakbarov welcomed the opening of the Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem checkpoint and the arrival of vital supplies, including fuel, into Gaza.

At the crossing, trailers with wheat flour, canned food and other ready-to-eat products were unloaded. During missions coordinated with Israeli authorities, UN staff also distributed tents, medical supplies, hygiene products and goods for children.

Ramiz Alakbarov stressed that a stable and predictable flow of humanitarian aid supplies in sufficient quantities, as well as the resumption of medical evacuations, are critical to easing the ongoing suffering of the population of Gaza.

The humanitarian situation in the enclave is complicated by natural conditions: more than 900 sites for internally displaced persons throughout Gaza are at risk of flooding, which could further worsen the situation of hundreds of thousands of people.
